STRING QUINTET

One of four pieces I've arranged for strings, this song is one of my personal favorites so far. Although it feels like quite a simple arrangement, the song is called "Space to Breathe," and the featured metric modulation, key changes, and usage of the parallel minor key all do a wonderful job expressing what this song is. It can represent a lot of things to the listener, but to me it reaches into this vulnerable truth that life never stops. The clock keeps ticking. And so we beat on, boats against the current. It expresses a facade of numbness to the human condition, where underneath lies great pain.
